In Second Life my private island is called “Shikasta,” after the book by Doris Lessing. I have been on Second Life since September 2006.
My first experience on SL was to build the space for Magnatune. It was an amazing learning experience and basically got me addicted to SL. Then I bought my private island. Then a second private island.
My best friend, KFH Pooraka and I spend a lot of time there hanging out. Since we are real life friends, SL is a great place for us to get together when we are on separate continents. She has introduced me to some amazing people who I can now also call my friends.
For me, SL is all about community, communication and creativity. It is an excitingly positive experience and the most fun I’ve ever had.
